The OSCTR is funded by the National Institutes of Health as part of its IDeA-CTR program. We have the mission to serve as a catalyst for clinical and translational research that improves health and healthcare for Oklahomans, to provide training and infrastructure to help junior investigators to launch independent research careers, and to expand the opportunities of IDeA states and Oklahoma communities to participate in research that improves the health of our residents.

Site Highlights

 

  • The Oklahoma Clinical and Translational Science Institute (OCTSI) has three primary components, 1) the Oklahoma Shared Clinical and Translational Resources, the state’s IDeA-CTR, 2) the OCTSI/OSCTR Clinical Research Unit (CRU),  and 3) the Oklahoma Primary Healthcare Improvement Cooperative (OPHIC) specializing in dissemination and implementation research in community settings.

  • The CRU provides centralized clinical research and trials support for multiple departments within the OU Health College of Medicine and other colleges and institutes on the OU Health Campus. This includes helping to lead Oklahoma site research activities for a large number of NIH-funded studies and networks, including the NCI Cancer Screening  Research Network, the IDeA-States Pediatric Clinical Trials Network, the CARE for Health rural clinical trials initiative, NIH RECOVER and ISCORE-RC, and others.
